Dance for Green Futures: A Cultural and Environmental Initiative

Place: Golden Sands (Varna), Bulgaria

Description: This training course seeks to merge the worlds of dance and environmental protection into youth work practices. During this week-long event, participants will go deep into various dance styles such as bachata, salsa, and traditional dances from participating countries, coupled with dynamic sports activities.

The primary goal of the program is to equip youth workers with innovative methods to integrate cultural arts and environmental awareness into their community engagements. The specific objectives include:

  • Skill Development: Enhance participants’ dance skills and physical fitness while promoting an understanding of environmental conservation.
  • Cultural Exchange: Foster an appreciation for diverse cultural expressions through traditional dances, encouraging a sense of global community and cooperation.
  • Environmental Advocacy: Teach practical strategies for incorporating sustainable practices into community projects and everyday life.
  • Leadership and Empowerment: Develop leadership qualities in participants, enabling them to initiate and lead environmental projects through the engaging medium of dance.

“Dance for Green Futures” encourages youth workers to actively engage in physically activities and be prepared to implement what they learn into impactful, sustainable community leadership. This course is ideal for those passionate about making a positive change through cultural engagement and environmental responsibility.

Costs: Travel expenses from Germany to Bulgaria and return will be reimbursed up to max. 275 EUR.

Contribution: To participate in this project, participants should share the values and support the mission of Copernicus Berlin. With the contributions of the selected participants Copernicus Berlin can create new opportunities. In the application form there is the possibility to choose the amount of the contribution. With a high contribution, participants can present their strong support and might be selected quickly. Contributions of 200 EUR or more are eligible for a donation certificate from Copernicus Berlin. Accommodation: The accomodation costs are covered. During the days of the training course participants will be accommodated in 4 stars Hotel Sunrise.

Meal: The costs for 3 times meal are covered. 

Travel: You can also stay 2 days longer or arrive 2 days earlier and explore the area at your own expense.
